Quality Inspector (NIGHTS) | £27,500 basic plus 1.45 nightshift (£39,875) + overtime

Working for a successful manufacturing company with a strong family feel, this brand-new Quality Inspector role offers a friendly team environment, salary of £27,500 plus nightshift allowance £39.875,  4-day week – NO FRIDAYS, free parking & flexible working hours + over time available at 1.45 based in Ferndown.

As a member of the Quality team, the role will be to aid the existing staff to achieve targets as set by the Quality Manager. The role will involve daily inspection of product using a variety of measurement tools & techniques which will require a high level of practical mechanical engineering knowledge.

Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector:

The duties listed below are a general guide and will not necessarily cover all duties the job holder may be required to do.

  • To perform daily monitoring of product manufactured ensuring compliance to drawing requirements involving First Off, In Process, Batch work and Goods Inwards Inspection through manual and CNC measurement.
  • To highlight problems as necessary, with proposed solutions.
  • To work closely with manufacturing to review quality improvement suggestions, formulate new measures, educate other staff in the use of quality monitoring methods and inspection techniques, and provide technical support.
  • To ensure that all work carried out complies with company policies and procedures, and health and safety requirements as laid down by the company and by external bodies. To ensure that all work is fully documented, and that documentation issue states are up to date.
  • To carry out any other tasks requested within capability.

Personal skills and experience for Quality Inspector:

  • They should have a sound, practical knowledge of manufacturing quality control methodologies, preferably within a high-precision environment and be able to communicate technical issues clearly and precisely. Applicants should be methodical, effective team players, practical, analytical, thorough, with good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish strong working relationships with all departments within the business.
  • Of particular interest will be personnel who have worked with high precision components and ideally with in depth knowledge of geometric tolerancing, interpreting engineering drawings, and machining practise. Working knowledge of CMM and Form Testers would be beneficial
  • A good general familiarity with Microsoft office and metrology software programs would be advantageous.
