Project Manager / Key Supplier Manager
Salary up to £60k

Are you experienced in building and managing IT / Software Supplier relationships? Are you confident in the management of complex systems and software projects within engineering? Working for an established global company you will be required to coordinate and manage high end key suppliers into the business on a project basis.

This exciting new opportunity offers a friendly/sociable team atmosphere, an excellent salary of up to £60K & great company benefits, based in Poole. This is a Fixed Term Contract for 6 Months.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager / Key Supplier Manager:

  • Build key relationships with strategic suppliers
  • Management of complex systems and software solutions from suppliers to support multiple customer projects and/or our product range both in UK and Export
  • Negotiation of Partnering, Outsourcing and Supply framework agreements
  • Management of on-going and new supplier contracts to ensure supplier adherence to time quality and specification for delivery of services and products including the use of insentivisation mechanisms
  • Ensuring effective flow down of Customer requirements and Flow up of Supplier requirements where appropriate
  • Manage coordination of multiple suppliers where appropriate where we act as systems integrator
  • Research for new suppliers
  • Selection of suppliers through competitive tendering or through sole source methods
  • Effective proactive liaison with other departments (sales, engineering and project delivery) as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply required services and products to relevant quality
  • Payment terms negotiation, optimisation and management
  • International trading issues/imports/legal, awareness and management
  • Risk mitigation through supply chain
  • Coordinate and manage “make or buy” decisions

Personal attributes of the Project Manager / Key Supplier Manager:

  • Strong Project Management / Supplier Management/Project Management experience
  • Proven track record in similar business and experience of working with both hardware and software development teams
  • Ability to gain understanding of contractual or commercial implications of technical or systems issues
  • Negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Project risk management
  • Qualifications in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Project Management a distinct advantage
  • APM/CIPS a distinct advantage
