Working in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same – you will deliver the configuration and implementation of hardware and software for specific products. This will include configuration, building and testing of system components. The implementation work will be a mixture of new projects & features for existing customers or investigating and resolving customer issues in live and test systems.

Working in a  young highly skilled team of 10, this opportunity offers a salary of circa £25k, full training on devices & software, considerable progression opportunities, fantastic team atmosphere, Free Parking – based in Poole.

Responsibilities of the Trainee Configuration & Implementation Engineer:

  • Configure, test and deploy systems based on a set of project requirements
  • Analysis of client expectations to develop the configuration and system
  • Troubleshoot system issues, diagnosing and resolving as required
  • Participate in external client project meetings (usually at Poole office) and provide reports or system documentation as required
  • Participate in external client training sessions such as webinars, user conferences, client specific training sessions
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing as needed to assist in sales efforts, such as bid responses and demos
  • Occasionally support the team by attending new deployments at customer premises, typically bus depots
  • Liaise with customers, third party service providers, sub-contractors and employees, either face-to-face, over the phone or electronically, to fulfil project objectives or resolve issues

Skills & Characteristics of the Trainee Configuration & Implementation Engineer:

  • Understanding of how to install and configure computer systems and applications (including MS Server 2016 and MS SQL Server 2016)
  • Understanding of computer networks on-site or cloud hosted including network administration and investigation of Domains, VMs, Active Directory and RDS environments
  • An interest in engineering and an appreciation for how computer systems work
  • An ability to investigate and identify root cause issues, against project deadlines
  • Enjoy problem solving and seeing things through to completion
  • A customer-focused, tenacious, can-do mind-set
  • Full training will be provided on proprietary devices and software
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a software related environment
