Indeed has a new tool for you

Average starting salaries for professional roles have grown by 3.68% in the past three years, according to the Robert Half 2017 Salary Guide. Salaries for professional roles in finance and accounting, financial services, technology and administration are predicted to grow by a further 2.1% in 2017.

With this in mind, Indeed, UK’s biggest job site, unveiled its new salaries search tool in the UK last week. Indeed Salaries provides job seekers and businesses with remarkable insight into salary data from Indeed’s global database, comprising over 300 million salary data points and growing. Now that’s a lot of data.

Indeed Salaries uses actual data and estimates from employees, users and past and present job advertisements to calculate an average for each job listing by region on a weekly basis. We know that salary is the attention grabber for any new job searcher who is starting out on their journey to find their new career. The salary will also determine the quality as well as quantity of applicants the job advert will receive.

Indeed research reveals that compensation is the number one motivator when moving roles. 60% of employed candidates surveyed omitted that money would most attract them to a new job during their search. The reality is that 9% of employed job candidates have declined a job offer due to poor pay.

“Our research shows that including salary data in job ads significantly increases applications from the most relevant job candidates,” commented Bill Richards, UK Managing Director at global jobsite Indeed.

“Companies who provide compensation details in their job postings, even as a salary range, get more interest from the right candidates and fewer applications from candidates less likely to make it through the hiring process.”

The tool also comes in handy for employers who are looking to bench mark themselves against similar companies and roles as well as stay ahead of the competition and appear more attractive to potential new talent.
